I know lately the reputation system has been a little confusing. I've gotten things cleared up and I can now let you all know exactly what that effects here on the forums and how to make those changes if you wish to do so.

Reputation is basically a way to make posts stand out, either because its a good post or because its a bad post. Okay, we all know that but what does it effect?

You can actually filter forum content based on reputation. If you are reading a topic, and you scroll to the very last post, just underneath that but before the fast reply box, you will see "Currently viewing all posts. Change threshold?" When you click this link it will allow you to change your content threshold!

Lets say I don't want to read any posts that are below 0 because I know that i just really don't want to waste the time? No problem, change your threshold to 0 points and all those negative rep posts disappear.

Experiment a little bit with it, but remember if your threshold is set too high, you wont see ANY posts. You'll see what I mean when you try it.

I know a lot of members have been asking if there was a way to get rid of crappy posts, now there is, set your threshold and give rep! If you have any questions post here and I'll answer away!

The board will be down this evening for maintenance at the most this should last for about an hour. So if you cannot log on, try again after an hour or so.

Because our new website will integrate very well with the pre-existing parts of the forums this is finally my formal request:

Please take a look at the navigation bar above and get used to the options. You'll notice that there is a Calendar tab, and you may have also noticed the "Upcoming Events" area at the bottom of the main forums. Ideally we would like these to show all the upcoming games and events. So here is what we need you to do:

• If you know of an event, please check the calendar and see if its on there. If it isn't just quickly add it by clicking the "Add new event" button. Events will require approval so please be patient.
• If you see an event on there is wrong, let an admin or moderator know so we can make sure we have the correct information.
• Make sure that events you are adding have valid information, and even a link where users can go to get more information if they need it.

I think to assign this job to one member of our staff would make it a tough job, but all of us doing are part will make it pretty simple!

One side note, you do not even have to play for a team to submit their events, if you know about it and its not on our calendar, put it on there so everyone will know!

I just wanted to make a quick post and let everyone know that all the errors are taken care of. This was due to the fact that we actually out grew our space limit, what perfect timing! I've upgraded our server to have more space. Now we're fast, and have plenty of space we should be set for a while, but as you can imagine this all costs me more money... So we'll see how long we can hold out this time!

As you have already noticed we've done a forum update! Welcome to the new UtahAirsoft.com forums, there are a few things you should know that go along with this change, please read below and pay close attention:

First of all make sure you take sometime and look around, a new forums means a TON of new features! If you have any questions at all on how to use them please post in the Support Forum, if for some reason that doesn't work you can always e-mail me: wade@utahairsoft.com. This new system comes with a few awesome things, here's a quick run down:

• Reputation System - On each post you can give the poster +1 or -1 reputation. We haven't quite decided what this will effect as far as the board permissions go, but you can get a general feel of how reputable someone is based on this so please rate each other fairly.
• Report this post to moderator - The bottom left of each post also contains a report button, please use this and report posts that start any sort of argument or just plain retardation. The reporting system is very robust and works well to solve problems quickly.
• PM Systems are now "conversations" - The pm's are not liket hey used to be, they are now in conversation format, this will take some getting used to.

There are a few ways that this effects the regular website... First of all the main website has been taken down, it wasn't compatible with the new boards so we dumped it. Secondly, there is not a gallery upgrade for the forums yet so that will also be unavailable at the moment. I'm working hard on the next wave of updates which will be our own custom site, integrated very tightly with the forums.

I wanted to take a second and let everyone know whats on the front for this summer, and what you can expect from us.

We released a little while back that we were going to be doing a spring operation, after talking it over and a lot of thought we have decided to bag it. In light of better things we want more time to plan, and make something totally worth while.

One thing that I did not want to do was saturate the scene with so many major events no one wants to come to any of them, or they can only pick one to attend. With that in mind I approached Andy and asked that he worked with UtahAirsoft.com this year to bring the next ground-breaking and innovative operation to the scene here in Utah. He has agreed to help plan and organize the event, we have already started and are well on our way to getting things finalized. For those of you interested in when it will be, as of right now we have a very tentative date of August 7th & 8th.

Hopefully we can start getting excited about a HUGE event in Utah this year! I wanted everyone to know that even though I'm not updating every day, I'm still working UtahAirsoft.com 365.
