Since the last event I've gotten a lot of questions about what I'm doing for the next one, if there is going to be a next one, and when it will be. Unfortunately I don't have all the details, nor can i speak to all of them this early on but i wanted to post an official news item for those of you who are still wondering:

I had a chance to get with a few people on the planning committee over the weekend and I'm pleased to officially announce that there will be a UtahAirsoft.com event this year: The Lahden Conflict II. As always we will be following the "choose your own experience" style of play and leave a lot of the details to you, the player. Unfortunately I cannot tell you the setting, what the sides are, the back story or any of that yet; but what i can tell you is that you don't want to miss this one!

I have planned for a late spring / early summer event time, although the exact dates have not been decided on yet.

For those of you who replied to the feedback thread after last years event, we have taken into account ALL of it and we're planning on using that to our advantage and delivering an even better event this year, so thank you.

For all of you who like the large events, get ready and gear up for The Lahden Conflict II!

I guess I'll open it all up to you, reply if you have questions I'll answer what I can. :)

terninators vs. resistance. u can have medics for resistance, mechanics for terminators, that way u can keep it like u can switch sides, resistance can "rewire" terminators to change there team, and terminators can change resistance into terminators like in the last movie, u can set up 2 camps for each team and then a team leader like andy last year can arrange assaults against each camp.

Lets build on last years event! Have people submit stories from last year and try to incorporate them, it has been a full year and a lot of things can happen. New factions, AFL becomes truly corrupt, PMC show up on the scene, etc.. Just a thought

The theme / style will be the same as last years, but it's definitely not going to copy last year by any means. I'm taking any feedback items from this thread and the feedback thread to determine how to change things for the better. I want to expand on the ideas set forth by the last event and build something that's going to be the ultimate choose your own experience game!

Feel free to throw out more ideas!

I don't think our choose your own experience format could handle a terminator vs resistance game. If you want to play a game like that we could just arrange a group of people to not call their hits for you. :) Kidding kidding.. ;)

What if we did groups by uniform a little more, kinda like Operation Irene, where those in tri-color or ACU desert Digi are US soldiers and everyone else are skinnies!
So maybe ACU Digi= AFL
Multicam= PMC
Green Three Color= Jabir
Everything else= People of lahden?
Something like that.. does that make sense?

Sub-factions in the teams or more than two teams would make it awesome in my opinion, or more specific roleplaying roles we can elect to fill with special abilities/objectives.

Sweet, Is this event going to be on a grey scale..
When i mean grey scale, there are no "good" guys just people fighting for what they believe to be right?
Oh, also how hard would it be to contact local civilians and get some NPC (non player characters) so like normal people in the town? They could riot, be suicide bombers, ham up peoples deaths, wail and scream. Just a random thought

Well the more NPC's we have the less actual players we have, so we'll most likely try to keep that to a minimum. As far as if there will be some good guy / bad guy stuff I can't say yet :)

I was thinking thespians or people who enjoy acting, I know a couple people up here in Rexburg from the college who would love to be "Amid Haradish Amed Refa'hadish" or whatever. Just a thought. Just another layer of play!

We will need a certain amount of NPC's we just wont focus on making a specific role for a group of them. Does that make sense? We will still need people who talk to the players, like the guys at the mission tents for the Jabir last year.
